VJ Ma and Push One Stop help to create the atmosphere for the closing gala at C2-MTL
Two Boogie VJ’s are creating the vibe, and setting the stage for Moby at C2-MTL.
On May 24th, C2 MTL will have their closing night gala, although the event will continue on until the 25th. This gala will be a party to celebrate the week-long creativity conference.
The gala will be headlined by the famous DJ Moby and feature performances by our very own Boogie Studio Collective.
Two of the artists who make up part of this collective are DJ Ma and Push Stop One. They are very well known musicians and VJ’s in the Montreal and international scene.
You may be asking yourself what is a VJ? If the concept of a VJ is unfamiliar to you, let me explain it a little further…
Being a VJ has had different meanings over the years, but can now be defined as Video Mixing. It’s the art of mixing the sound from music and other audio clips to visual displays of images, video footage, colors and effects. Wikipedia defines it as “the creation or manipulation of imagery in real-time through technological mediation and for an audience, in synchronization to music.” DJ Ma and Push Stop One have been doing this for years and are becoming well known for their skills in the industry.
Marion Carassou Maillan or VJ Ma as she is best known, hails from the south of France, it was at an applied arts school there, when she discovered how to manipulate images and sound with the use of computer software.
She has been researching the link between images and sound ever since, and has been performing at many large festivals . She brings an artistic flair along with her technical know how to this year’s C2 MTL closing night gala.
For this event VJ Ma will be partnered with Cadie, another long time and well respected VJ. She goes by the VJ Name, Push One Stop. She is an online compositor at Boogie Studio, who has worked on the visual effects for many major motion pictures including, Incendies, Gerry, and also various television commercials for clients such as: Nissan, Rogers, Danone and many more.
With over three years experience on the Montreal scene, she also puts on amazing live performances, creates an energetic ambiance, and gets people dancing at all of her shows.
This year will be no different, as these two musical and technical powerhouses combine to rock the house at the C2-MTL Gala. They are creating all of the VJ work for Moby’s live show, which is sure to be a crowd favorite.
